Words are powerful. They can hurt or heal, tear down or build up. A wife responds to the words of her husbands, for good or for bad. She needs to hear from you that you consider her beautiful, that you cherish her, that she is a wonderful wife and a life-mate. The amazing thing is that most women will evolve into what their husbands tell them they are. Build your wife up. Never ever tear her down with your words.

Lord help me guard my mouth against saying harmful things to my wife. I pray that my words would only build her up, never tear her down. I pray to be a husband of grace, a man whose words bring healing to the hearer. Father, put a guard over my mouth when i am about to speak unbecomingly to my wife. Instead, fill my mouth with words that edify. Amen
